Hey, I just bought some EL XR6 fuel injectors on ebay for $80 bucks cleaned and tested. I was just wondering if they make any difference going into a Gli?

I only got them cause i was quoted $180 for reconditioned standard ones.

Thanks

there is no difference between them at all

by the way you should be able to get injectors cleaned for about $20 each if you take them out your self

Just remember to apply a little light oil to the 'O' rings before you insert them, they have new 'O' rings I hope?

You need to bleed off the fuel pressure first. Or you will have fuel spraying everywhere.

Unplug the fuel pump relay then start the car up. It will run on residual pressure until that is used up. Then try retarting the car. It shouldn't start.

Now it is safe to remove the injetors.

You may have to remove the throttle boby also (4 allen key bolts) to be able to get the fuel rail off enough to get the injectors out.

pardon my ignorance, but if there is no difference between the xr and gli ones why would you bother swapping them, unless yours are dirty I spose? :?:

Yeah as he stated he got them for $80 cleaned and tested which is around half of what you can get them cleaned for (plus if you remove and fit them yourself you have to d**k around pulling them out and taking them to get cleaned etc)

And yeah fuzion, I think we need another sticky / FAQ with all these and others in it! :)
