hey guy's my xr6 has got the most annoying squeak inside the dash somewhere, it sounds like it is coming from the stereo cage but it isn't cus i have completely removed that and the f**k still squeaks, behind the centre console is a little lip sort of thing made out of rubber foam and plastic and when i push down on that it creaks a bit...if anyone else has had that sort of problem with their car can you please let me know cus its really pissing me off

Just find the source of the squeak and use some silicon to stop the plastic surfaces rubbing together.

Is it auto?
Sometimes in the auto's the hole in the plastic strap, the selector shaft comes up through isn't big enough, and the edge rubs against the steel shaft making is squeak. Mine does it there. Behind the stereo there is a metal hump that comes out toward the cabin, this can rub up against the plastic shards of the dash in that area. I fixed mine years ago by filing the plastic "blades" or "shards" and that fixed it. |

If its manual sometimes when you push the clutch in it morphs the firewall slightly causing a creak....

my fairmont does the exact same thing.
sounds like theres a little rodent in your far left hand side passenger aircon vent? pisses the sh** out of me |

she's a manual...i dont know why but when it is raining it completely stops squeeking and as soon as it is dry it squeaks like a b**ch...so behind the centre console there's a metal part that creates the problem?
ill have to have a look into it and try to figure it out thanks guy's

fixed it...after taking out half of the dash and pulling parts off that i really didn't want to i got the s**t and took a hammer to it.....NO MORE SQUEAKING WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lol

that would have been one of my work mates cus i screwed him over on his website saying that he was scared of his parents by coming out of the closet haha so that get f**k was a haha get f**k lol
