Question you have to ask yourself is WHY? it will probably work, but electric heaters chew a hell of alot of power, and get a hell of alot hotter than the standard heater, so you are gonna need a hell of a good electrical system, and some damn good heat sheilding if you want to avoid fires. The standard water system works fine. The other problem you will find is, to get decent heat, you will probably want to run it off 240V AC Mains voltages. This will require an inverter, and cause more danger also. Dont forget, inverters are not 100% efficient eithier. I personally think it is highly dangerous and a waste of time, but i'd like to see how you go about it if you are sucsessful.

They won't heat your car very well. Unless the outside temperature is greater than that of your cars interior.

When I got my XF ute it had a small 12V electric heater in it. It doesn't put any noticeable strain on the electric system, although is isn't very powerful at all.
I would guess its about the equivalent of running a windows actuator.

I'm guessing you want one because your heater isn't working? They're pretty easy to fix, just takes a day or so.

If your car runs on BBQ fuel, I would suggest the removal of your rear seats and installation of a short height patio heater. Much more fuel effiecient and no power drain, unlike the electric bar heaters.

However you may want to install electri windows the regulate the heat.

Also the patio heaters come with the heat sheild so your roof will not catch on fire instantly, and have also proven to be pretty wind resistant.
