I've noticed the same "ticking" from the front right of my engine too. Sort of below the rocker cover, under all the intake area... Injectors I suppose, since it's not that loud?

Would probably explain why I'm using so much fuel going down an onramp to the highway, or booting it in general...

Prices on new injectors/cleaning, anyone?
