I believe the head gasket has died. and I think it may be oil burning with a tad of water mixture. hence the black smoke with black soot in water (black liquid). Or the black liquid could just be condensed air vapour trapped in the exhaust over night and mixing with burnt carbon.

but I'm no expert.

phong =P~

EDIT: Or what smiley said below

the cars running rich, unburnt fuel is exiting the exhaust pipe. You probably notice less power and more fuel consumption. Could be the oxygen sensor.

the "black liquid" is just water mixed with the carbon ash in the exhaust.

My bet is O2 sensor.

My bet is the hose to the map sensor.

We forgot to refit this when changing the TB on a mates VR and it idle'd like a cam'd V8, but with black puffs of smog coughing at the tailpipe..

exact copy off one of my old posts:

Quote:
Hey, ignore the tennis raquet cause your is probably mpfi, the map sensor is the little black box at the top of the pic and the tube coming out from it connects to somewhere like the intake manifold or throttle body (can't remember 100%) but just look out for an empty protrusion that the hose would fit on, usually looks pretty obvious.

Doesnt mean its not the head again. did you have the head done by a reputable mechanic. if all the other things mentioned above are ok then i would agree with Phongus that the head may have died again. Head bolts may not have been torqued down properly.

Well change that o2 sensor. If that doesn't fix it, could be a number of things, even a leaking fuel injector for example!!
