Yep same thing. easy to change too. Make sure you use the silicon grease on the bottom.

cheers. I have the heatsinking grease so thats no problem. This better fix my problem, the engine died on the way back from repco as I was going round a corner which meant I suddenly had no power steering. Keeps you on your toes

yer but with cfi which is the car i did it on, you have to take off the "airbox" and the air con compressor. would be soo much easier if the dizzy wasnt hidden away. should only be a five minute job

With an MPI car all you have to do is remove the airbox/snorkel and the ISC on top of the throttle body and you can unbolt and pull the dizzy out.
Just need to take dizzy cap off and leave to the side. Did it a number of times when converting my old EB seriesI 3.9l CPI to multi-point. cheers................. |

yer this was on a 30th aniversary, 4 spd like yours. There isnt enough clearance on mine. different a/c compressor maybe.
I dont think the problem has gone away as I had the engine stall again today going round a corner. It didnt die but when I put my foot down there was nothing and then the engine kicked in again. the revs were dropping slowly while this happened |

The problem is still ther and its bloody dangerous having the engine die as you go to pull out. Because its happening when I'm idling along could it be the idle speed controller?
So far I have replaced the fuel filter and TFI/ ignition module |

could also be the hall pickup sensor inside the dizzy. It picks up the signal from the chopper disk. Gregory's manual says both should be replaced at the same time. Also could be the ignition coil.
Also check the ECU and fuel pump relay's located behind the battery for any signs of corrosion on the terminals. The green one is fuel, black/grey one is ECU. cheers............ |

Also when the engine dies does it just cut out with the tacho falling straight to 0rpm(ignition related) or does it drop revs slowly and then stalls(fuel related).
cheers.. |
