ef_falcon_95 wrote: i think theres a fuel cut off thing , i heard it somewhere, Thats called your rev limiter. There is no fuel cut out on these cars. its a simple case of injectors supplying what ECU say to provide. I would be looking at both fuel filter and pump. If the injectors have already been done as you say, there is only 2 or 3 things involved with the fuel delivery. I would doubt the reg would have shat itself.

Two things, put the old coil pack back in and see if it does it still. My Au did this and progressively got worse until we chucked a new coil pack in it. Also, do you by any chance have a full tank of fuel at the moment and have filled it to the brim? The other thing my AU used to do was when it was chockers full, if you went round a corner fast or accelerated hard it would just about stop for a few seconds. Never did find out why.

Not sure how old the fuel pump is only had the car about 10 months. the fuel filter is 6 months old. only use BP or mobil 98 RON
Yes the tank is full but it wasnt when it first started doin this. Ill try to get around to doing the compression test as i also need to check if the rings r rooted as its burning oil, hopefully its only valve stem seals fingerscrossed. The reason i suspect the regulator as my mum had a piece of s**t VL which shat the regulator and this appears to have the same symptoms, i just wanted to know if theses regs have a tendancy to s**t themselves. Just a funny coincidence that i do the injectors and then this happens like 3 weeks later. Also to add i put the Gas mixer back on last nite ran like a dream didnt miss a beat idled beautifully and seemed to have more power than petrol. Definately something to do with the petrol side of things and also my economy is shot about 400kms to 70ltrs with pretty easy driving i usually get about 500-550 kms to the tank. So i think i can rule out electrical/ignition issue related. also started pinging with 2 different J3 chips all with diff modded tunes, 4 tunes on petrol all up and they all were pretty s**t.

well looks like you are left with the following:
1) injectors - probably not as you say they are quite new but? 2) Fuel reg - possible 3) Fuel filter - new filter, means nothing if you have a tank full of s**t, using 98 does not mean you get clean fuel. 4) Fuel pump relay - might be dodgy, easy to replace. 5) Fuel Pump - My guess, probably on the way out. |

yes its in the tank but easy to replace go to the boot and pull back the carpet on the lhs and remove the round plate held in by the philips head screws undo the big hose clamp arond the pnp nut and udo special 3 prong tool required or use a good flathead screwdriver and a hammer will do undo the two hoses and the loom first obviously and remove the unit replace pump and re-install all up takes about 20 min!!! and if the head is leaking ontop of the piston or down the block or both you wont get water in the oil
