Hi guys just wondering if some one can help me determin why my engine is missfiring.It only misses at idle at around 700rpm no where elese does it do it.I have checked/replaced spark plugs all the spark plugs are firing its just got me stuffed the engine is a ef falcon cheers.

spark plug leads, possibly electronic module on the dizzy.

quite a few possibilities that it could be

Well, considering it's an EF and we don't have a dizzy, it's gotta be:
- one of the coil packs,
- one of the leads, or
- the ECU itself

if its a coil it would be 2 cylinders misfiring.. I would suggest leads as plugs have already been done. To diagnose a little better, see what lead you can pull off without the engine getting much worse. Lead sets for EF's are not cheap.. but get some good ones.. does it get any better when the air-con is turned on or off? or when you have the wheel at full lock when stationary?

Thanks for replys guys i have tested leads with the spark plug and each lead works although the spark isnt that bright like it isnt a bright blue.When i turn steering wheel full lock when stationary the car sort of goes to stall.Could the valve stem seal have gorn?

if you get smoke out the exhaust under load it will be valve stem seal... oh and its gone not gorn ;)

if its leads and/or plugs, you cannot diagnose this at idle, it needs to be under load.
