Ive been browsing over the wares on offer from JMM, crescent motorsport, and wade cams, and I deem all is good in the world. we are spoilt for choice lads! isnt it great?
The problem being is I cant seem to decide what would be the best option package. If you have modded your ford with any of these products, can you post why you chose said product, what you found great about it, and what you didnt find great about it? Even if you havnt modded with these, lets get some centralised feedback on a variety of engine mod options. Do you go the Dev3hl, or the Dev5, or the crescent stage 2 kit with your own custom intake with Pacemakers headers? Let us all know what it is you opted for, and what it is about it that makes you grin like a fool every time you hit the loud pedal.

I'm currently doing my own thing in modding a 4.0 I6, I'll be sure to let people know how it goes when I get there. It involves a custom ground cam, so no shims are required, AU II rods, Mahle hi-comp pistons, EA head, EL crank & block, etc..etc....see how it goes.

will be interesting. It would be good to sorta get a kw per $ result. To see wetehr its better to do your motor in stages or get full kits.

My ute got the jmm treatment before i brought it
it's a dev-3hl kit upgraded to race(cat + extractors) less the intake kit which i soon will be adding The invoice: "To fit 3hl kit $2990 Upgraded to race $455 Less intake parts $100 TOTAL $3345" On mocks dyno it made 152rwkw. I love it. It has a nice sound without being obnoxious, plenty of power but still well behaved. And it's not too bad on fuel fastest car out of my group of friends. Not a great feat. closest rivals; semi-seized up gemini, clapped-out torana, fairlane with half a million ks and an AU xr6 |

152 rwkw is pretty good mate. thats about 200 odd flywheels ( since i think the loss is about 50 kws on readings to the rear wheels with the falcons)
That would give you the same power to weight as a te50

!52 is pretty good, its right up there. seen plenty of the E-series do on avergae 120-140rwkw in our club here in SA on our recent dyno day. Seems you got it all working pretty well.

want to have a build off ? see who gets the highest rwkw at the end of the build |

personally Im more interested in torque- having it come on early and stay on until about 4500. I dont like to wait for my power. Im impatient.

its hard to compare packages with dyno readings from different dynos, as im sure that my 145rwkw at crescent motors will demolish a 170 rwkw motor from jmm... (this is why a dyno registry is useless)
so post up your times too if you have some... my setup: el xr6, cms stage 3 cam and stage 2 head, extractors, cold air intake... 145rwkw + 369nm @5000rpm.... 14.6 @94mph
