my ed desided to die in the a** today.
the ignition and accesories work but when trying to start it up the engine makes a whining noise and the pulley and belts dont move at all. has this ever happend to any1 or anyone know what it is or could be.
any info on the matter appreciated

Sounds like your Starter motor isnt engaging.

Edit - as above

you could try "tapping" the solenoid/starter with the handle of a hammer or big screw driver but DONT HIT the black bit where the wiring is as it will shatter.

If you can start after this then you will need the starter serviced or replaced.

Also try turning motor over a bit (15 degrees) with accories ,belt (key off)if this allows starting then probably ring gear. This is a drop the box job.
