Hey about the whole cat thing, how would u tell if your cat was going in a manual?

Even if you can only get to one end the muffler should drop down away from the cat enough to poke a torch in and have a squizz. Well I had a look and it seems that it is a three bolt join at the front and a 2 bolt at the back. So I'll be taking that off on the weekend and haven' look. I hope that is the problem but I have a feeling its not. I'll let yas know what the outcome is. Thanks.

There's no way to tell in a manual unfortunately. Usually the first sign you get is burnt valves and a leaking head gasket PS: Manuals are exactly the same as auto's (mine pictured above is a manual)

so can i get rid of the cat then? i dont want to have that risk... i've heard its illegal to remove the cat but who gives a f**k if it could ruin my engine??? My friend sed he hollowed his out and bolted it around a straight through pipe, possible? A picture of the cat convertor would be realy helpful

If caught removing or modifying at cat converter, its a $10,000 fine for individuals, or $50,000(i think) for a company. But if you do decide to hollow it out, make sure you put a piece of exhaust through it, having a big empty space in the middle of your exhaust is gunna do nothing for performance/fuel economy.
A mate of mine had a similar problem in his EB, changed dizzy, leads, plugs. turned out to be a stretched throttle cable. |

well yeh it is illegal. and y would u remove it, save the environment etc. EVERY car has them, if u leave an oil cap off you could screw the engine....taking the cat off is a bit extreme
