hey guys,

been thinging about my 300,000km engine currently in my EB2.

i plan to keep it for a long time to come, my options are...

1) engine rebuild/reco

2) fit an EF/EL low km engine

3) dont know! (any other options)

what is the main differences between an engine rebuild and reco?

also im in east melb, can people please suggest any places they have had a rebuild done on their e-series?

a rebuild is where they rebuild your engine,a reco is an exchange from hmgem or similar.

Pull E.B engine appart and check clearances... BIG chance it only needs rings and bearngs?? DON'T bore it unless you realy have to!!!Timing chain and oil pump...
OR fit with Plasma rings.. Should be around $140 from www.Rocketindusties.com.au Or www.VPW.com.au
Spend some $$$ on heads, 2030 cam and inlet....Maf latter....

nope, they are the same thing.
haha lol the thing is both are rebuilds! the only difference is the rebuild is just using your engine where the exchange is someone elses ex engine rebuilt... :lol: :wink:

well actually there not,,the end result is the same but their definitions are different.

as has been said

a rebuild is useing your own motor and a reco is useing an exchange motor from a reconditioning factory.
