hey all
have stripped the tickford engine down. i want to make sure it runs well when it goes back in, so: -sump gasket -timing chain tensioner -vernier gear -head gasket -rocker cover gasket -recon injectors -new fuel reg -new oil pump -new water pump -h/duty valve springs anything else i should be looking at? what $$$ are oil & water pumps worth? cheers!

use a factory sump gasket. it is a 1 peice rubber. $56 tho

Bang a screwdriver into them, and lever then out, then bang the new ones back in , with a straight edge/block of wood etc, pretty easy, and save you the trouble later on down the track, seeing as how they do corrode.

Dont forget bob get the AU head gaskets so you dont have to change it down the track.

Water pumps are about $150 if I remember rightly.
Oil pumps I dont know. Maybe get a better oil pump higher flow or something. |

Front main seal... not sure about the 6 cyl but 20 bucks for a v8 one... would make sense to do it if the timing gear is all coming off the front...
Easy enough job... pry old one out... carefully tap new one in...

i'm just worried about smacking them in too far? can this be done?

Smack in on one edge the plug will turn around and can be removed with a pair of pliers. get stainless plugs (a little more expensive but don't corode or rust out ). balance all moving parts

While you have the gearbox out replace front gearbox seal as well saves removing box at a later date

cheers bob. i guess if i take my time & i'm careful enough it won't be an issue! how many welsh plugs are there?
balancing moving parts - how do i go about that?
