THE PROOF IS HERE!
Compliments of Simota Australia (http://www.simota.com.au/default.htm)
Quote:
Increased Performance
Simota Filters allow a higher velocity airflow. Better airflow means better breathing.
Better breathing allows your engine to develop ... MORE POWER ... MORE TORQUE

Low Restriction
Multi layer design traps dust whilst still allowing air to pass through.
Washable, Reusable Cotton Filter All Simota filters feature fully washable,
reusable high quality cotton filters. The pleated design of Simota filters
provides a greater surface area for filtration.

Economical
Less expensive in the long run because they are designed for years of use and reuse.

Great Appearance
Race-styled Simota Filters look great. High quality materials coupled with careful
manufacturing, results in a premium quality finish. Available in a wide range
of very attractive colours.

Universal Fit and Vehicle Specific
Simota Filters come with either a 77mm neck or 114mm for universal applications.
A range of adapters and sleeves are also available. Simota also manufacture
Vehicle Specific Filters and Kits.

Now guys go and do the maths!

I notice that Simota don't provide any figures beyond there filters size/dimensions, so much for all there 'R&D'...

O, and for anyone interested, the Falcon setup isn't even listed on there sit, it's all jap crap!

everyone already knows that 3in pods only give minimal gain if anything. Go with R&D and pay a bit of money and you will see the results!!!!!!!!!

not bagging you out mate ,but can you show us some results as in before and after dyno runs. i am interested to know what difference it makes.

I can state, that if you don't properly shield your pods from the engine heat, you WILL lose a lot of power. I gained 3 tenths down the quater, just by shrouding the pod that the guy i bought my car off had left exposed in the engine bay.
So cause i have a 3 or 3.5 inch pod, does it matter if i am geting another 100rwkws, even though theres a big air pump mounted at the other end???

No one's going to believe anything without some figures or proof of some sort. Plus i had a N/A pos setup, and i reckon it wasn't anything different to a panel setup. Thats my opinion of them anyway.

shielding can be from actual heat shield or boxing it. i dont understand how ppl can't see that having it in the open will be drawing in hot air.

when i first got my car and come onto fordmods.. i searched for the threads, and read some peoples thoughts..and it made sense to me.

box it or shiled it off!

Young guys will believe anything you tell them... bet you didn't know i gained 50 rwkw from fitting a Wade cam to a stock 4.0, no s**t.

I saw that exact intake in use on the Dyno @ Crescent motorsport a couple of weeks ago. 8KW gain when the pipe was removed!

Thanks Brad, we finally have figures hahahaha.

that sounds and smells like a bs story. 8rwkw with the pipe removed when i am only claming 10rwhp(7.46kw) max with the pipe installed. Therefore the pipe at crecsent motorsport must have had the dirtest most fouled up pod in the god damn world..

that is just a waste of a post really, it doesn't make any sense really. Had your mate a cescent motorsport re-oiled his pod with sellys no more gaps or something. geez what a bs story..

cheers....................

That's a s**t story?

I think you should go back and read what you've posted mate, then you'll understand what s**t really is.
You can't open your mouth and defend something without the facts to back it up.
Your so called facts are what a sales rep has told you... they'll tell you anything to get a sale.

The cotton pod filter is the same as K&N and when cleaned with detergent it is white in colour.

The red colour is fron the K&N oil spray which has a red dye in it so you can check to see what area's have been sprayed with enough oil.

cheers................

I'm sure he is, and nobody is disputing that... you're making all these statements with no proof to back it up.
If you posted the results then you'd have no arguements from anyone.
