XH I6 brought up error Code 838 on that diagnositcs, Evaporator Temperature Sensor voltage is too high'. Any ideas?

thats a sensor for the A/C mate.
It pokes into the heater box just where the evaporator is.

well it's official he definately doesn't have air con!

The gregory's XH/EL manual says disregard code 838 when A/C is not fitted, so you have no issue.
