Me and my mate where swapping those ugly looking two peice cast headers for a set of pacey 4499. We had it running with out the cat on and it really did sound like a tractor on steriods. Once the manifolds was off we fired it up, still had the same note but F**k was it loud.

ahahha, we did this on a mates EA a few years ago..
bit of carbon coming out the ports, flames...
didnt wanna idle either :P

aftermarket cam made it awesome :D

hahah done that on my old 250 bike

no pipes at all shook the house windows 30mtrs away was cool!

then started my new 600 with no mufflers just header pipes and i could not rev it past 4k it was that loud!

You can shatter valves doing that. When the valves get hot and some cool air gets sucked back in throught the ports ........ shatter, crack.

Ok to run for 30 sec or so but if you ran it for a while. Bye bye engine.

i would also assume you could burn your rings running with no back pressure...

Lol it does sound like a tractor! What about the oxygen sensor though? I don't think the ECU would have liked that very much hahaha.
