hi just wondering if anybody has used a temperature sensor on the exhaust

im setting up individual sensors and need to know how high of a temprature im going to have to be to read

and work out what i can insulate it with

you will need proper 1500c thermocouples like the ones used in industrial kilns with stainless braided harness.. the exhaust shouldn't run that hot but you need heavy duty thermocouples.

Autometer have a part number for thermocouples to go with their EGT gauges.
pretty sure the gauges read to 2000F.
