After a price on a 2.5" cat back exhaust with a straight thru muffler. Lukey or Redback for an EL Fairmont. Also how much for extractors.
It would be also very helpful if you could tell me of any cheap places in melbourne to get it done. Preferbly northern suburbs but willing to travel if it is going to save me some money.

If your after a price, the best way is to ring some exhaust shops, that way you also find out who is the cheapest too!

Well just to give you an idea. A redback mandrel bent 2.5" system with muffler and resonator should cost about $280. Maybe a little less if they can order a rear section without the resonator, and maybe a little more if you want a chrome tip.

EL system is same as EA-ED as far as i can remember.
I paid $820 cash for my system but was a little different.

Expect to pay abit for headers.
I got custom PaceMaker headers that set me back almost $600.
The exhaust is the cheap bit.

Also dont bother spending hundreds of dollars on a high-flow cat as the ford cats are very high flow already and putting a high flow cat in has little or no performance increase.

i paid $330 to fit extractors which i bought myself (pacemaker 4480s $410) and to get a straight thru muffler fitted and 3 inch dump tip, the car had a 2.5inch pipe when i bought it, i have the stock rear muffler and the lukey straight thru in the middle, sounds good, goes even better.

I've got Pacemaker headers (the normal ones) and a Mercury 2.5" system, with Lukey 3" oval stainless steel tip. The Mercury system had one muffler and a hotdog.

The Headers cost $493, fitted. The Cat-back zorst and tip cost $250, fitted.

So total cost was $743.

My Mercury system sounded really good when I first got it. Although it didn't make a lot of noise below 2000rpm. It made most of its noise between there and about 3500rpm, then got quieter above that.

Since the Pacey's went on, it sounds different. It make more noise throughout the rev range and is not as noisey between 2000 and 3500rpm, like it was.

It now has a nice deep burble. When I drive through the shopping area of town, it gets the attention of the teenagers on their pushies.
