My car seems to drone at around 110kmh (about 2200rpm), and can get kinda annoying on long trips. I think they may of removed the resonator (or at least not installed a new one) when they put together my 2.5" exhaust. It's an 85 model, so there are no cats either - just 1 lonely muffler.

Just wondering if putting the resonator back in would help this? And would it impact anything alse?

There was a post a while ago, can't remember who it was or when... but he had a rad setup. Standard for cruising and long trips and loud for around town. Was just an interchangable rear muffler. Seemed to me like a good idea...

I used to have an leaded XF with one Muffler too, it droned real bad, chuck a resonator on it & see how it sounds..

u can install a electronic flange in ur exhuast, they open more as u put the foot down, so at low throttle pressure, its only opens a bit

I think I done really well when I got my zorst. Its pretty loud (and sounds perfect) when you put your foot into it but when your traveling (even at 110) you pretty much don't hear it! Same goes for around town...

Mines just your standard 2.5'' with normal muffler and then a smaller one at the a*** end (resonator?!?)

cheers, Nathan

an electric flange would be good to see, i think your refering to the valves that are controlled from inside the cabin that restrict the overall diameter of the exaust effecting sound.
suitable for track/road cars apparently but don't seem to be all that popular.
flange at the diff is ok but it's too late to just change it back after you already got the defect.
