hey all,
i have a 2001 series 2 au xr6 non vct and had an exhaust but it's all burnt out now and sounds like S***. so, i have a question, what would be a better all round choice, Redbacks 2.5" or a custom made exhaust from Exhaust Brothers? they are both the same price $350. or if anyone knows somewhere else to get a exhaust done cheaper or better quality for it and could let me know would be great! I am located in Geelong but willing to travel if its a great sounding exhaust

Performance wise there shouldn't be a difference - they should both be fine - it'll come down to the sound which is something you can only assess by listening to the type/s of exhaust you're considering getting.

Keep in mind Redback comes with three options for the rear section that go from loudest to quietest (and cheapest to dearest):
1. Straight pipe. 2. Pipe + Hotdog. 3. Pipe + muffler. I don't know what type of muffler that would be tho - presumably a perforated pipe thru body type but I don't know for certain. The custom place will be able to do pretty much same as any of those options.
