hey all, dose anyone know if there is a product avaliable ( i think i saw one in a magazine once) that you can fit somwhere to your exuast and it sorta opens and closes to quieten the exuast (for street cruzing to avoid defects) if so from where and how much..also any experinces with this sorta thing?

They are fitted factory to the rear muffler of Nissan R34 Skyline GT-T's
Ring a few japanese wreckers and see how you go, hopefully they'll still have some stock exhausts that retards haven't replaced with d***head chrome f@rt cannons. |

mm thanks for that mate..do you know if they can be opened and closed from inside the cabin? i checking this becuse im about to put a dump pipe on and want to try and avoid unnecacary noise at unnecary times

Yes, the R34's have a switch to the right hand side of the steering column that switches between sports and silent mode.
It is an electrical actuator that sits in the exhaust. I cant' remember if its inside the rear muffler or just before it. |

called an active exhaust. ferrari's have them. by passes the cat and other restrictions. there are a few on the market, the one i've seen is a cable system. if you handy making stuff you could scavenge an actuator off an ef varible intake and make it pritty trick

hmmthanks for that sounds like the cheapest option so far
an ideas where to mount it eg strat after the extractors or futher towards the end? i chould proabably figure somthing out using like a choke cable or somthing along those lines. thanks all for your help |

you almost need two pipes. mounted before the cat and runs back to bypass all the muffelers. or as many as you think nessisary. keep in mind if the police figure something funnys going on they'll drag you out of the car and beet you

He's not in Victoria so he'll be alright, to quote someone else on another forum, if he did it in Victoria he'd be shot on sight and a speed camera installed outside his house. |
