Time to upgrade the old exhaust...

stock 1 has holes drilled in the cat and the resonators!!!!

noticed when i was changing my diff oil

sooo, seeing that i no nothing about exhausts or any of that i would like some suggestions.

basically wat i am after is a nice purr at idle, but when i put the foot down a nice loud roar!!

ive been doin a bit of research and like the sound of pacemaker headers, and i may as well do something with the cat seeing that theres holes in it lol

so any suggestions welcome, pictures better :)

I bought a magnaflow 3" cat for $130 on ebay, a set of Genie headers from the quokka for $180 and a full "scotts rods" mandrel bent cat back exhaust off ebay for $179 plus shipping.. it is not a quiet exhaust, but I like it.

Add to the costs above about 180ish for shipping, gaskets and welding in the cat.. the rest you can fit yourself. .(easy and took about 45 mins most of which was getting the old exhaust out.)

get some pacemaker extractors, (would ph4490s work?) get a hi flow cat and a 2.5" catback.

you'll be looking at around the $1K mark all up (parts, installation etc) depending on where you go and where you source the parts from

Lukey catback w 1 muffler, a set of pacie's ( i have pacie copy's), and a decent high flow muffler should make the car sound great, and go a bit harder too.
A cat designed for a 5l + V8 (commo) can be used in place of a high flow, and is cheaper... im pretty sure on an i6 you wouldnt notice the diff, other than in you wallet.

If your wondering, my exhaust which consists of a 2nd hand lukey, pacie copys off ebay and a std car cost me under 400, fitted, inc a $50 tip.
