If you dont have a gasket in there it would certainly help.

So, can you buy new gaskets for it? If so is it available from autobarn or supercheap?

Yes they are, just make sure that you have a standard exhaust. :)

Should be able to get the gaskets from Supercheap, Supercheap has them over here, just get the right size to match the exhaust diameter. Failing that an exhaust shop should be have them.

Even if you have the gasket though, its always good to put a bit of gasket sealant around the flanges where they bolt together. When i used the gasket only, it had a leak (condensation) where the flanges joined, so had to resort to the gasket plus a bit of sealant. A few others will have probably have faced the same issue.

What happens if there's a leak?

Nothing really, its not like you lose power or anything cause its really only the slightest gap between the flanges, condensation builds up and drips out. For me its just annoying seeing a wet patch underneath the car after the cars been running for a while. I hate seeing any leaks under the car, it pisses me off
