Hey all

I was thinking about putting a sports exhaust system on my EF, also replacing the centre muffler with a redback straight pipe.

I was just wanting some opinions or maybe even some other ideas.

Cheers mates!

My suggestion is to purchase a complete Redback 2.5" cat back system through your local exhaust bloke. You can either pay to have it fitted, or fit it yourself.

I recommend getting a rear resonator, as in my opinion, they are way to loud without one.

Cheers

I got my Wagon Redback exhaust for $330. It came with new rubber hangers and flange gasket.

I installed it myself at home.

Ring around and have a chat to the exhaust places.

Cheers

Ben. I have rung up a couple of places, i went to Teds Muffler Service in Dapto asking if i could get the rear muffler taken off with a straightpipe, he won't do it for obvious reasons that it wouldn't pass registartion which is fair enough, but he did suggest to take the centre one out. i'm also gonna get he prices fo the redback system. so i'll keep atleast $350 to buy it.

Jonathon: I have heard a lukey 2.5" cat back on youtube on an ef falcon, it wasn't too bad, but yes you are correct its not all that loud, but i don't mind it though!

I'm also considering on a high flow as well, i've been and spoken to a bloke about it, he said its less trouble than a straight pipe, and it may even sound alot better than a straight also. He gave me a price around the $260 mark so i'm thinking that could be the better option.

i have seen this product in a few ford mags lately and wondering if anyone has got any feedback
or knows someone who has used it.
it's the high performance muffler from i think magnaflow or something ! sorry i dont have the mag in front of me.
but its a fully fitted high flow muffler with remote control in the cab ! and all you do is /
if you spot the cops in front of you you just reach for the remote hit the button and hey presto/ 1 instant quiet exhaust system.
ok cops have gone hit the button and ya exhaust turns into a fire breathing noise machine once more with full sports muffler!
has anyone used this product before and how good is it. i am thinking about getting it installed.
that would be the best of both worlds to me. :D

My next door neighbour has one of those sort of set ups on his R33 Skyline. It actually works quite well, and I for one and pleased he had it installed.

It means he can come and go at any time without waking up the whole street. It is really quiet when in SHUT UP mode and when he opens it up a street away you can hear the bloody thing as he rips up the street. LOL.

ok i found the name of the remote controlled muffler system ! its called the varex " as listed in the latest street fords mag !
the only problem with these seems to be that you only have three xhorst tip options.
option 1 is an ugly single chrome tip 'doesn't look that apealing.
option 2 is a double chrome tip once again ' not that nice.
option 3 and i know you die hard ford fans dont like these but it's a dirty big dump pipe!
to me the dump pipe looks ok.
but i think the only catch is that you can only fit this muffler on a x force xhorst system.
site is www.xforce.com.au
this to me sounds f**k awesome !the power to turn the db's down on ya xhorst system when needed. only hopeing this product is adr approved.
for the p platers it would be a great tool for fooling your parents! drive out ya driveway in your nice quiet car !go round the corner and turn up the volume.if anyone gets a purchase price for one of these can you post it up here . :D

If you look more closely, they also have universal VAREX mufflers with no tips, and a 2.5" inlet and outlet.
