Ok I just put my ED cat back 2.5" on my EL (very impressed, did SFA on the ED but sounds great on the EL) Anyway the tip is all the way over to the driver side of the gap in the rear bumper, so what I was thinking of doing is making, or buying if I can find one, a dual tip, so that it uses up all of the gap in the rear bumper and doesnt look out of place. What I wanted to know is, because the car makes a really nice sound between 2000 and 2500 revs and I like it like that, will changing the tip change the sound of the exhaust?

Usually a tip wont make any difference to the way an exhaust sounds.

i have heard very very minimal exhaust note changes... nothing beneficial really

NO changing your tip will change the noise of your car about as much as changing the oil will.

sorry to say, but on my brothers car, he went from a dump tip to twin staight's and it lost a little bit of the 'burble' on idle. As i said, it may make a difference, depending on what you're going from and to, but most likely not noticable

cool, now I just gotta find the twin exhaust im lookin for, as most are a Y shape but I need a h shape. Will go look at SCA soon

I can imagine it will be hard to find the tip you're after if its off centre, as it would still be off centre...
I understand how you said you were looking for a h tip, but does anyone know if they make one like that, i just haven't seen one before, thats all. |

twin tips and large oval tips make more noise, not exhaust but a "fluttery" sound if you get my drift

get a BA tip, their off centre.

If you can make a tip to suit, or move/adjust the exhaust to centre it up then, you're laughing. I've honestly found the oval tips sound a bit more hollow, and the twin have a bit more burble to them. I have changed tips and notcied this myself.
