take out the six and put a 460 race motor in with 6/71 supercharger. that'll make it hump!

Seriously, in what state is the engine? It is amazing how much power a rebuild can supply. You get used to the old worn engine over time, and you don't notice the kw's slowly "wearing" away......
Another thing to try is to look into later model parts, inlets, exhausts etc. Sometimes some cheap upgrades can be had at the wreckers, inlet, snorkles, airboxes, exhausts, manifolds etc.....depends what will bolt on.

cast iron or alloy head?
I put a late XF EFI head on mine, and it goes good (kept carby though). Also, try running on PULP. You'd be surprised how much difference it makes, though it can wear valve seats eventually if u still have soft exhaust valve seats. I've seen some blokes on here that reckon that all alloy heads can be run on ULP without much drama. If you've got alloy head with stronberg, try a webber off an XF instead. good difference in power and economy. |

I've always found the cheapest increase was made through a nice exhaust system (big and freeflowing) and a better air intake (better filter and box inlet.

Mate, get an electric Craig Davies radiator fan. The stock XD motor driven one just saps the power!
