Hey guys, just put a set of genie extractors on my el falcon. But where the cat bolts up to the tail pipe it leaks a fair bit and i have noticed a fair power loss since installing the extractors??? wtf, is it cos of the leak or the extractors. didnt think a leak would do that much damage.

did you use a new exhaust flange gasket when you installed the extractors? (the little gasket between extractors/cat)

My mate had similar problem with a BA XR6, he just had to get it re-tuned (had to take it in the shop) I believe with the EF and EL you can just disconnect the battery for around ten minutes then reconnect it and start the car up, let it idle for about 5mins or so then go for a gentle drive and this should re learn the ECU...somebody please correct me if im wrong though.

I would get the exhaust flange gasket replaced for starters. See if that makes an improvement. You shouldnt need to disconnect the battery, id say you have a leaking flange it happened to me on a XF i used to own as well it sounded like s**t when it happened and i had stuff all power. as soon as it got replaced it sounded and went 100% better.
