hey guys i asked this a while back but no-one replied

ive got a 91 NC1 3.9 fairlane ghia on gas and i want to do a few basic mods

im prob gonna start of with a 2.5" exhaust and an XH snorkell

does anyone know a good place in melb (se or e - burbs)
and what in particular should i ask for (in terms of exausts) from what i gather lukey seems to be pretty recomended but is there a specific type or model that would be best. (im new at this)

ps what sort of cost would i be looking at installed for the zorst
and is it worth getting dyno'd and how much would that cost

cheers to anyone that replies
ben

pps i know its never gonna be a rocket i just want it to sound feel and breathe a bit better :D

Well I had an exhaust fitted on my XR6 for 290 at performance exhaust in ringwood, they do a good job.
I get all my work done at Daalder exhaust in Box Hill now, as I know the guys there, so they look after me.

I wouldn't buy a lukey for an auto IMO, they're pretty loud exhausts, and an auto 6 with a loud exhaust sounds pretty awful at 20-70km/h.
I'd recommend a redback 2.5" Exhaust mandrel bent with the rear resonator, it won't be too loud, but will be a bit deeper and will flow better.
Don't pay more than 300 to supply and fit, unless you want a tip as well.

superlow springs, a decent exhaust with a nice tip and dark as f**k tint will make it pretty decent.

More than likely no one replied because all this information is in the i6 mod guide thats the sticky. And its been covered many times in other posts which can be found by using the search feature

Cheers

I've got a lukey too and it sounds great all around. My friends XR6 doesn't have the rear resonator and drones on the highway, but he's got a redback. Sounds a lot deeper and louder though!

I think the main thing you need is mandrel bent pipes, decent tip and I think I paid $350 or under? can't remember. Make sure you tell the guy in advance if you want your tip recessed so it doesn't stick out as much.

Like I said above I've got an EL XR6 with a lukey, and my friend has an EF XR6 with a redback. They both sound awsome, and have nice idles and burbles, but his sounds louder and 'grumblier' due to not having a resonator.

Lukey and Redback were the two standards that most people had on this board when I was researching on it. If you have more cash I guess you could spend more on something expensive like a custom exhaust etc.

I think if you get extractors and definately a cam your exhaust note will sound nicer due to the engine being upgraded.

I had a 5 speed EL XR6 with a mandrel bent redback 2.5" and no rear resonator. You will love that combination, sounded beautiful.
Don't pay more than 300 without a tip though.
