I blew that fuse installing a trip-computer with the battery on:P This caused the car not to start. It seems to run lot's of things, most of the electronics were off when it was blown.

The spark plugs, leads, dizzy and ignition coil are all new, but we still get no spark. We have checked for wires not plugged in, and found none, however one of the fuses in the drivers cabin keeps blowing, the crt lp one, are they both related? Any Help appreciated If I remember, that also runs the Smartlock too, that fuse.....I may be wrong...... yes you are correct. if the crt fuse blows the smartlock module will disable the ecu.. so untill you find the short the ecu will be dissabled.. |

hi again.
Got an auto elec. to come and have a look today. He said the BCM (Blue thing) had the short in it. So we went to the wreckers and got a replacement. Hooked it up, and the interior lights are all working again. Though he left one wire cut on both driver and passenger sides and on one of the plugs going into the BCM (Red and yellow wire with grey bits). He says there might be short in the front passenger side door. As when i try an unlock the whole car, the car goes into a loop of locking and unlocking. The front passenger side door just stays locked and doesn't pop up. Im wondering if those wires are the ones that control that. He also said charge the battery over night, connect it up in the morning, turn the key to the on position and leave the front door open for 45mins (I think for the smart lock). After that we can try to start it. As for those wires, he said that to try a 3mA fuse between them to see if it blows or not. I have a question about the distributor. When putting it in, how far down does it have to go down until in place, at the moment its almost touching the engine block about 5mm away from it, but does it need to be touching the engine block before its in place correctly? Im thinking this is the case. |

Yes, the dizzy has probably not aligned with the oil pump shaft yet.
