Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anybody can tell me if the 98 explorer i6 motor is the same as a falcon i6 motor? If does anybody know if this conversion can be done?

Thanks
Brice

After further investigation you are correct.

Thanks

my experience as a ford mechanic with those vintage explorers is that they arent alot of fun...
everything u do on one of them turns to crap..
my advice: sell it and buy a falcon, it'll give u less troubles

While on the subject of motors into other cars. I seen a early VN V6 (yes there is a difference between early and late VN motors) in a 2 door nissan patrol. The thing hammered. But problem was the trans was on a fair slope but it still run great. There were plans to make it a 308 but that never got done.
