Hey guys, i was just wondering if people can give me some info on falcon utes...As in the models and how much they approx weigh and things. I thought maybe pick up a cheap manual one with a kinda tired engine and do it up to beat some of the turbo lads. What model is the ef/el equivalent?

XH = EL - there was also an XG(?) ute that was pretty much the old XF, but upgraded to the 4L engine specs... XG was equal to ED or so i think. the EF/EL's are most closely matched with the XH ute.

Actually XG had XF bar, headlights and bonnet. The XG had a grille similar to the EB and indicators in the front guards.

It also had the EBII/ED engine and associated running gear with a XF dash pad, but new cluster :)

The utes up until AU were pretty much the same as XD/XE/XF utes. The rear was the same, the dash was the same (with minor changes of course), chassis is the same, front panels on the XG were the same.

The XF ute ran up until 1992, it was replaced by the XG with the 4.0 EB II/ED engine.

XH series one had the same EB II/ED engine, just had an EF look alike front (though you can't swap the front from a sedan to a ute).

XH2 got the EL engine, and kept the EF style front.

Not sure what the go was with interiors exactly. I know they had air bags towards the end, not sure if that was all XHs or XH2. Also not sure on clusters, but the EB/ED cluster was in the XG, might of been XH1, don't know.

I have a 5speed XG 170KwATW and it weighs 1400 even. This is a bit low because they are meant to weigh 1480 out of th factory.
