Hi,
Just wondering if there is any significant difference between the falcon 4.0ltr and Fairmont Ghia 4.ltr engines? Thanks.

and ACL pistons as i discovered recently when my sump was off ... was replacing the oil pump- looked up in the bores and noticed ACL cast into the pistons..

That's assuming they are the original pistons. It wouldnt surprise me if ACL supplied OEM pistons to Ford, either permanantly or during a supply shortage.
As for the orignal question. Assuming we're talking about the EL's - the fairmont ghia basically received XR6 running gear. EA-EF Fairmont Ghia is same running gear as all the Falcon.

They're the same as XR, except with a different exhaust so a slightly lower output arent they?

EF2 and EL coppped the XR running gear, lower kws because the exhaust was different.

So a series one EF Mont Ghia still only has a 3.23:1 diff ratio and standard head? |

I guess its no different to Bosch supplying electrics, VDO supplying guages and hella supplying lighting.

Not necesarily, depends on the model, pre EF-II they were standard engine, BA onwards standard again. |

But obvously bodykits and fancy wheels are were the money is at these days (incase you can't tell I think BA/F Xr6's are a disgrace to the XR6 namebadge)... |
