Hi All,
I'm about to drop a FG Barra into my ED track car. I know that for BA-BF a vacuum solenoid was switched at 3800mm. Can someone advise on how the FG manifold variable intake is controlled? Is the coil fed +5v or 12v at higher RPMs or rather at idle? What sort of signal? I could use a programmable output from the EMS 8860 ECU if needed. Given that the engine will always be reving above 3000 rpm, is it easiest to leave vacuum line unplugged or plug it directly bypassing the valve? |

Intake ports are a different shape.
E series/AU are round and BA/BF/FG are oval. |

Thanks for the quick reply but I think I was not really clear.
I have a whole FG engine that I want to run with an aftermarket ECU. How does the variable intake work? How can I just lock it in high RPM position? |
