ok now you've removed the restrictor grab yourself a v8 fg inlet snorkle from ftg. they come pre-modified to clear some piping in the way. done that to mine and can say there is a noticeable throttle response difference and better take off.

hmmmm ok i know this sounds contrary to all logic but i put the restrictor back into the lid of the air box in my FG XR6....

I wont lie... i think its an improvement, it doesent respond quite as quick, tiny differance, but when it gets going its a bit quicker... iv got the K&N panel filter with the SS big mouth kit on it, for some reason it just seems quicker with the restrictor, im thinking its something to do with the the restrictor being shaped like a velocity funnel, anybody else tryed this at all?

if so, let me know, if not give it a try and let us know if im crazy or not...

i put the v8 snorkle on my g6e. tried it with the restrictor in first, not a huge difference. took the restrictor out, now its much the same off the line, but more poke once its moving, and seems to have better throttle response

The pipe that connects to the throttle body. not sure if this is the same thing with the FG, but the BA-BF's the sedans have a dimple under neath the intake pipe, so it sits flush without any clearance issues. The territory pipe has no dimples, so it's 3" all the way through.

Well iv been told by my local performance mob (independant motor sport) that if i put a big mouth kit, a growler, extractors, cat, catback and a high performance tune id be very lucky to see 20kw... So is it all really worth it? Im chooseing no... So thats the end of my performance mods...

bpt in perth told me not to expect massive gains from a tune as the motor is tuned fairly well already. i like to think that by adding extractors, dual 2.5 inch cat back, cold air intake and underdrives ive milked a little more power already. only have a generic tune which gives me a bit of an edge of the line and turns off the mil light from the exhaust, dont know if its worth custom tune as its not turbo or supercharged.

They are pulling your d**k mate. All that on an FG you'll see 200rwkw no problems!

EG. BF SR (phil545's ride) 190hp stock. Extractors, catback, underdrives, growler and performance tune and he got around 230hp. That's 40hp more. The FG's take to mods a lot more happily. Just do your research, and make sure you go with a good tuner. Him saying that you will only get an extra 20hp is rediculous.
