Just curious! is it possible for a BA XR6 Falcon 03 (which is what i have) to beat an FG in the quarter mile?

lets pretend the FG was limited to one mod (so exhaust OR Cold Air Intake) - pretty much stock.
And the BA was allowed unlimited amounts of mods.

is it possible to beat the FG? and how many mods and what kind would you need to do it?

just curious!, not sure if anyone can answer this.

PS. also thought id include it all in one post - when you do an edit/custom tune/flash tune - does it increase your torque? might sound stupid but I'm new to all this.

thanks

A Corolla with "unlimited" mods can flog a FG. You can do it easily.

i have a full exhaust with pace maker extractors atm. planning on getting a typhoon CAI.
Also planning on getting a tune - not sure if i should get a tune from a specialist or just buy my own flash tuner for 800 bucks, what would be more effective?

diff gears, haven't read to much on it. expensive?

ps. i have a manual.

Work out what you want to do with the car then do a custom tune after the mods. If you do a cams you will need a tune at the same time. IF you have 3.45 diff you should be fine. You are probably already neck an neck with a FG falcon now.

So this Tuner for $800.00 includes a generic tune? or is it an empty Xcal3? If its the latter your still gonna pay to get a custom tune put on it.

i think it is a generic tune..

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FLASH-T ... 291&_uhb=1

that is the link to it on ebay ^^ take a look.
but i just rang a tuner up here in cairns and they reckon $850 for a tune which gives you the same result as this ebay item. only if i bring it in workshop for a tune (850) i get it put on the dyno.

hopefully the gains aren't too bad :3 fingers crossed.

Yep. They will preload a tune for your car. Usually a 95 octane,98 octane and a Race tune. I believe you are better taking your local blokes offer for $50-more and getting it custom tuned.

you talking about the upper and lower intakes? if so but a turbo upper snorkel, and lower from ford. Cut the box,add high flow panel filter and you will have pretty much the same thing for around 1/2-1/3 the cost.
