Just been reading on another forum how to remove the restrictor out of the airbox
of FG XR6 , and notice someone had posted not to remove the restrictor at all as it actually increases airflow to the throttle body/motor , just wondering if anyone could give us any more info on this topic, will removing the restrictor produce more airflow to the engine or not ? |

OEM intakes are sometimes designed a little restrictive too produce better low down torque. food for thought...

its not actually much of a restriction, i'd leave it there, its designed to increase intake velocity,
more velocity = better atomisation = better mixture distribution in the combustion chamber= better combustion = better volumetric effiency
