hey all

just wondering - the firewall sound proofing stuff (engine bay side) - can that be replaced? mine is looking pretty ratty, so would like to remove & replace if possible, as not overly keen on having too much sound carry through to the cabin

cheers!

it appears to be a 2-piece setup, but i'd imagine everything will have to be stripped from the firewall to refit/replace

there must be something else that can be used...? i know Gli's didn't come with them, so its not vital, but i'd rather keep as much noise out as possible

my gli has one... but it was special ordered from the factory with front door pockets, cruise control tinted windows and tickford gas so maybe its another thing it got from factory..

my mate has his motor and box out and most of the engine bay stripped ready for paint so its not too much more to replace his.. just gotta find where i can get one

mine is stripped as well, hence the need to get it done now, if at all. if i can't, it'll be ripped off cause it looks like poo with it shredding as-is

not overly fussed, the factory stuff is all moulded to suit the firewall etc - so it'd be a mission to get something to fit as well, as i'd imagine the exhaust etc will be loud enough anyways lol

Lol, EF twin thermo fans cost $800 plus from Q Ford Springwood, and you can get aftermarket ones on ebay for $190. Really nuts, some of the prices.
