No real need for an halfcut, just aquire a complete motor, the loom, ECU, smartlock bypass, an EBII > EL fuel pump, an airbox and that should be all, search the many el motor into ea / eb topics there is.

Will you be using all the EA stuff like water pump etc. You might aswell if your ganna use a EL ecu go all the way. Injection manifold, serpentine belt setup, thermo fans. You would most likly find that you can buy a EL cheap enough to use as a donor car and just swap the whole lot over. If you bought a EL engine, ecu and everything else you need to do the job that would equal what you can buy an EL for these days.
