Took the falc 4 a little test drive 2day after completing EL thermos fan conversion.Definitely a mod worth doing from what i can tell so far.Haven't been able 2 get out of 1st gear yet (auto) and on 2 the open road. Both fans r cutting in at between N and O on the gauge and one is coming when i engage A/C. Defiitely more free revving and had modernized the overall look of the engine bay. Also replaced radiator and had the alternator reconditioned.

how did you get it to activate when the A/C was turned on? a thermo switch?

I am doing the conversion this week. I am still deciding on where/what i am going to use to trigger fan 1 and fan 2? what did you wire the relays up to?

when i did my old conversion i picked up a feed off the back of the aircon compressor, theres only a couple of wires, you1ll have to grab a test light and figure out which is which.. but use that wire to trip a relay...

awsome. cheers, i would have never or thorght of that.
so you run it joined to one fan, but what if we want both running when it gets hot but one during aircon if they were both off before a/c turned on |

the davies craig thermo switch has a diagram with it and shows you how to set it up.

I used the Davies Craig Thermal Switch (Part No 404)from Autobarn.It cost $85.
It only has one relay in the kit so u will need 2 more.1 relay for each fan and 1 for the A/C. |

Other alternative (may or may not suit ya's) is to use an EL ECU with the factory EL wiring (or equivalent)
Works a treat  obvioulsy in conjunction with bbm etc

I wired both my fans together to one relay.. and bought a thermo switch from jaycar. whats the issue with air con?? why should that make a difference?

aircon requires air to flow across the condenser to produce cold air... if your at lights with your thermos off then your aircon will go warm till you move again. thats why there are 2 fans, one for aircon and the other for cooling.
if you use an EL loom then you also have to use EL dash ect unless you want to cut and chop wires |

thats what we are all trying to work out. anyone got a wireing diagram? or can anyone make one?

Use 3 relays,1 each 4 the fans and one for the A/C.Hook into the blue wire which is visible on its own for the A/C relay.You will c it running to the compressor.This way when u activate the A/C, one fan will come on regardless of how hot/cold the engine is.The thermal switch (Davies Craig or
similar activates both fans at a set temperture for engine cooling. |

ive been thinking about this too. got plans for the BBM so will more than likely just go EL ECU with thermos and serpintine belt. So guessing there couls be some wireing changes needed
