 Post subject: fitting a shift light??

wanna put a shift light in(not tacho) i need to know the tacho wire either bhind the dash or ill just go to the ecu but im not sure wat colour or pin number anyone know its 4 an ef cheers

there is a blue-pink wire going to the plug on the right hand side of the instrument cluster. You can also get it from the diagnostic port.

where are you going to mount it? and could you please post the pics up here when youve installed it??

ive got one in my ef. easy as to install. i took mine off a pin in the diagnostic port. im pretty sure its the 3rd from the right. ill have to check tho. i mounted it on the steering column.

Nicely positioned. :)

A shift light is a really good idea, in my opinion.

A shift light on a 12,000rpm tacho, and you should be sent to jail to get bashed in the a**...

I made my own with a rpm switch and a high intensity LED. Looks as close to a factory fitted shift light as you could get and is very effective.

How come the shift light comes on at 3500?
