Hey guys, was wanting to upgrade the air filter in my el. Was gonna put a K&N panel in there orignially but i was wondering if i could fit a pod in there WITHOUT any cutting to the airbox (Want to keep the stock look). Is there some kind of adapter you can get to fit them up if they do fit?

go with the panel dude, they offer just as good airflow and dont make you look like a squeezer

You can pod filter adapters from autobarn for aroud $35. I had a pod but took it out and went back the panel and didn't notice any difference in performance (on a V8). You can fit it into the box but you yill probably have to cut up a 45 bend with a rubber hose and a couple of clamps. If you are going for the pod consider dumping the airbox all together and making some sort of heat shield in the corner of the engine bay behind the light. Or maybe a sequential scoop into the airbox. Either way, you need to get more air into the pod then what the standard snorkel can supply.

Kingkezza, got a few pics in my gallery, the only cutting i had to do was to remove the bell mouth tube. They can be a prick to fit, have a go good luck. As for looking like a squeezer, a pod correctly fitted in the air box can not be seen looks stock standard. If you cant be stuffed trying something different cardinal_eb dont bag other people who have.

JMM recommends a pod in the box (which is what I have) and if it's good enough for JMM, it's good enough for me...

Well to be honest I don't think im really even gonna notice the difference between a k&n panel and a pod. Just thought it would be a good starting point for mods and aid in potential mods later on. I'm still keen to give it a go, I just don't want to waste $100 on a filter if it's not going to fit in my airbox

I was thinking of making something like that using an XR bonnet vent and some PVC pipe. Any idea how much one of those setups is worth? How much performance gain is there?

I also have the JMM pod filter in my airbox and I tell you it does make a difference. Not neccesarily power wise noticbly but did a long trip last week and got 450 km to half a tank of fuel in my EF Futura.

Not necessarily a good pod will have more surface area so better flow. How ever a bad pod wont have any good air flow.
