Hi Guys,
I bought a really cheap set of headers! They are wildcats. I used to have pacies on my EF *RIP - got killed in the Perth storm* but could pick these up in mint condition for 100 bucks (pic attached). I know pacies would be better but I am happy to have set of headers atm and would prob upgrade to pacie comps in the future. Anyway, back to my question. Did anyone ever fit them? I need a flange to put on my cat and cut the cat ect. Does anyone have fitting instructions like the pacies get supplied with or know where to get flanges? Or maybe it's easier to buy a high flow cat ready to bolt on? Do they exist? Any help greatly appreciated!

Sorry, can't help with your specific question - but I'm looking at getting some of those Wildcats (at $270 new I'm willing to give them a go) - so I'll be interested how they perform!

When I picked up the set of pacemakers on my Eb Ghia, I also picked up an ac delco 2.5" cat from a dunnydoor, as it has flanges both sides, plenty of them around in good shape pretty cheaply. Had the exhaust shop put a flange on my exhaust, so the extractors & cat then bolted straight up.
Cost me $150 to have them remove old manifold & cat, install extractors & new cat, then flange the existing pipe (2.5") to connect up. They also supplied the 3 gaskits. Cheers ToranaGuy

@ Greenmachine: I am intending to post the results, I am not sure how long it will take me to get the bits together and weld it up. I am sure it will be an improvement from stock.
@ the rest: When I had the pacies the exhaust shop welded the flange (that is supplied with Pacemaker headers) onto the cat. Pacemaker provides instructions on how to alter the cat to fit. I found some universal flanges on Ebay for 2.5 inch applications. Welding, I can do it myself but don't have a welder atm. I might be able to get one from a mate. I might go and check for some universal high flow cats as long as they exist in 2.5 inch. Would be easiest I guess as I want to keep the whole exhaust on 2.5 inch diameter. |
