hi there i am in the middle of fixing my engine i got to replace the timing chain cover , timing chain guides and get it all in time is this all pretty straight forward??? also is anyone in the gippsland area that could give me a hand?

I wouldnt bother doing in in the car, it was hard enough on an engine stand :lol:

ive got the timing chain cover off but i think the new cover might be off an el

just because it was hard for you with your engine on a stand doesn't mean it will be hard for everyone else.

fordnut1988 read the repair manual regarding the removal and replacement off the timming cover, also if you need the extra space pull out your thermo fans and radiator before you even think about pulling out your engine.

people who work at supercheap should not be allowed to give out mechanical advice and should learn to check the shelves before they say they don't stock an item :twisted:

already out bear80 and i dont plan on pulling out the engine at this stage unless im gonna put the au engine in

could to hear, just make sure all mating surfaces are clean and throw in a new seal behind the harmonic balancer and be sure you reset the tensioner properly and you shouldn't have any issues.....

yeah should all be good but would be nice to put a au engine in :) is the au engine a moother engine?

hi everyone engine is back together but it wont kick over now as far as i know the chain never came off so we just put the new timing chain cover on a put everything back together and it keeps tuning over but no start any ideas?

when we checked them they did yes think we have found the problem the crank angle sensor is not bolted up

yeah only problem is a strange noise coming from serpetine belt kind like a scretch and also sounds like a vac leak but its coming from the serpentine belt we also put a new water pump in and there is a small leak coming from the tranny cooler line
