Hi folks,
I have noticed of late my car is leaking water not a lot but the temp is starting to rise a bit still under half though. Tonight I noticed after a short drive my air con line had frozen up under the hood. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it? |

It would help if you told us which line is freezing and where.
I'm guessing the line that runs along the passenger fender ?

My bad! Yes you are correct its the line that runs along the passenger side fender near the airbox.
Any hints or tips would be appreciated. |

So it's most likely getting frosty near where the pipes join just up toward the firewall from the airbox - about halfway along the engine bay. The freezing will go along the pipe toward the firewall.
Near that junction where it looks like the round pipe has a hexagonal crimping, the orifice tube sits inside. It's a gauze filter which regulates liquid refrigerant flow into the evaporator inside the heaterbox. Rubbish in the system blocks them and restricts flow. So the A/C needs to be evacuated, orifice tube replaced, and regassed. Good idea to replace the accumulator during this as well - the rubbish is coming from somewhere - might be desiccant breaking down. Limit the A/C use, as the compressor relies on the refrigerant flow to carry lubricating oil through it - long term the compressor will fail due to insufficient lubrication. If it's not noisey in operation now, it'll probably be okay.

Take it to an A/C place.
