Hi everyone im a bit new here, im putting a eb motor in mi el everything will bolt on but the el motor has w sensor with a white plug near the oil pressure sender and the coil in the block but the eb block doesent have 1 will the eb motor still run in the el
and how do u have to re do the timeing when u change the harmonic blancer |

the sensor near the oil pressure sender is a knock sensor, yes it will still run without it, it detects knock and retards timing as needed to eliminate knock.
re the harmonic balancer, no need to time it up. its a keyed item, it can only go on one way. its not an adjustable item. timing is adjusted via the dizzy with a the use of a timing light and the ecu in learn or diagnostic mode. there is a doco on it under resources up the top of the page, between events and chat.

thanx for the info about the knock sensor, and i thaut the harmonic blancer only went in one way but its best to ask coz im still learning

im left with 1 other little prob now, the eb motor had a manual Gearbox on it and im putting mi auto back in it, but where the torque converter goes into the back of the motor it has a spicket bareing in it from a manual gearbox, i was told to pack it with bread and give it a smack wtith a socket bar to remove it, does this actually work?

The spigot bearing can be removed that way. I'd use wet newspaper rather then bread.
We use a small slidehammer at work. If using the paper/bread and extention bar method don't be scared to give it a good whack. It'll probably need it |

i used bread and grease, and stuffed the end of mi breaker bar in there and smacked the hell out of it it took about 20min but it came out pretty easy, i was verry supprised
