Currently looking at buying my first car and came accross a ed. The seller says the odometre is stuck on 177k and assures me it hasn't gone past 200.

is this an easy fix?

next if i was to buy it i would want to mod it and was wondering on the price of mods?

its a 4.0 auto with a heavy duty radiator and transmission oil cooler ( has been towing a boat around alot)

i would want some xr/gt wheels $$??

2.5inch sports exhaust $$??


what should i look for when driving it? what are common problems with this car?

ended up buying it.

just one problem, when turning the steering wheel left or right when standing still, a grinding noise was coming from near the tyres. Anyone know how to fix this?

Mine does that too every now and then.. it's the power steering pump I thought..

ive been told this is the rack and pinion and could just need some more grease and lubrication.

hi mate.get the car.thay are rare speacily a good one which is in good nick.mine is in good nick.the speedo is simple to fix.just get another cluster and replace the small gear in the back of the speedo.then you are ready to go mate.stef.

yeh stef it is a great car, currently sitting in my driveway just need to get rego sorted tomorow and its all sweet.


firstly need to fix little problems such as heat sensor, central locking, odometre and some rust then i should be straight into the mods.


looking at putting aftermarket speakers in including subs

cat-back sports exhaust (will this make it faster?)


K&N filter (panel or pod not sure yet)


XR wheels


side skirts

ect ect..

I wouldn't believe the guy telling you it hasn't done over 200k.

Unless he can provide service records up until 170k with a date that's within the last year or so, then you can be sure that it's most likely well past 200 in reality.

yeh mate it has service records, and i believe it may have done even less then 200.

all mechanic proof of date when stopped working and i worked out roughly how often he goes for a service
