DONT DO IT! they are useless cars, the motors have problems, the cars in general have problems annoying problems, they used to come into dale ford and most of them were sh#t! why would u want to put one of those motors in a falcon? i recommend not to do it,inline 6,turbo etc much better...Vito.

They're nicknamed the Exploder for a reason.

stay away.. as most members have stated that they are really a death trap... motors are s**t the thermostat housings tend to s**t them selves and loose water a blow the motor.
the whole car it self is s**t yeah nice interior but it was a major lemon full stop.

I did some internet research on this a while ago and at some point the motors went from a whopping 125Kw to something like 160Kw, so you'd want to consider the latter, if they were sold in Australia. The benefit of course is weight distribution.

the problem with the exploder V6 is that it has one timing chain at the fornt of the motor and one at the back, they only last so many clicks then its engine out to change them! thats why you see so many cheap ones cos once this comes up its easier to just sell the s**t.

That doesn't sound a clever arrangement, but then again, if you are fitting one to a car, the chains can be replaced before fitment anyway.

ahh but the chains are also known to fail.. a few couple that i have seen while working in a wrecking yard for over 20 + months,
the ford explorer is just a lemon, they are a crappy car, when ford first sold them in the usa they had light truck tyres or something along them lines the "lightyear" brand and while cornering the cars flipped etc etc. If you want to use a explorer motor i don't really see the point if you are wanting a v6 i would either convert to a 3.8 or 3.6 alloytec holden motor... or a vg30dett outta of a 300zx.. but i see you are only 16 so yeah ya just learning s**t about s**t.

the only thing with explorer in its name that should be put anywhere near a falcon is the explorer intake manifold for the v8.
The closest you want to get to anything to do with an explorer is park next to one. Explorer, the car that pwns you!
