Hi there, im new to this forum and i just got my license. i also just got a ford fairmont eb and as a little project i decided that it would be a good idea to install a push button to start the car. It's a cool feature in such an old car. I am also thinking instead of cutting the wires and joining them to the button, it would be better to strip the wire and solder wires from the main wires to the button, that way i can use the keys if i want to.I have a good knowledge with electronic and really handy with soldering. I already have the button. I have taken the dashboard appart and located the wires, how ever, i dont know which cables are what and i dont know where to start. Your input will be much appreciated :) :D :D

Hi thanks for your reply, i just contacted them and it appears that they dont make them/ have them anymore :( I can do it my self however all i need is the wiring loom. I mean i'd give the car a value of no more than 800 bux, it wouldnt be worth it anyways to spend 200 bux on it LOL.

I got a push button from jaycar, the I probed the back of the ignition barrel with a test light. Then I cranked the car and found which wires had power, and I wired in the switch, then I got over it pretty quick lol

Now I'm just gunna install a kill switch replacing the button, then I'll hide it somewhere

Awesome idea!!! i have a killswitch, installed it after my central locking stopped working. Its even funnier taking the car in for service and watching the mechanics trying to start it LOL
