STFU when you know SFA. Buick V6= a***. It doesnt matter where the gearing is - box or diff, its still gearing isnt it? If you change the Falcon to a 3.45:1 LSD even in auto form you'll smash the commo off the line.

Theres not a VN in town short of a worked 5.0 SS that can get the jump on my EF manual.

WELL, my old poo bucket is faster to 80 odd than the new VE SS 6 litre manual.

had a few goes at that thing haha. he was shamed :D

I am using an EA t5 with its wicked first and second gear ratios. Its pretty insane.

here ill post up my timeslip

Image

Remember, that commo has a 5.7 litre engine in it and near over 300kw at the flywheel.
mine has not even got half that at the WHEELS...

gearing FTW, I even give subaru's a scare. willowbank is fuggin fun I say ;)

note the 60 foot times there. and on stock diff, open centre diff and F**k clutch,

sorry if im worng

*sigh* no they dont. Its good that you are sorry because I hate to be the one to tell you but they dont.

take this for example (since I own an AU Im using that model range):

2000FORD FALCON AU III FORTE

Maximum power 157kW @ 4900rpm
Maximum torque 357Nm @ 3000rpm

2002 HOLDEN COMMODORE VX II HBD EQUIPE

Maximum power 152kW @ 5200rpm
Maximum torque 305Nm @ 3600rpm

the falcy owns in torque not only in peak but it comes on earlier.

The falcon 4.0 ltr 6 is stroked mate, it has Torque, more torque and a bit of torque added in for extra measure. Its the 1st gear ratio in the gearbox that makes it feel breathless off the mark. Holdens do not have a 3.08 gear ratio as you have also claimed they can have a 3.08 diff ratio which is entirely different (no pun intended.)

just to back up my earlier claim:

1993 FORD FALCON ED FUTURA CLASSIC

Maximum power 148kW (DIN) @ 4500rpm
Maximum torque 348Nm @ 3750rpm

1993 HOLDEN COMMODORE VR

Maximum power 130kW @ 4800rpm
Maximum torque 295Nm @ 3200rpm

I hope I amongst others have been able to steer you in the right direction as false knowledge is not knowledge at all.

it sure does give them the s**t, they get scared when granddad spec ef beats them to 80 odd.. sometimes by a good car length, so you can imagine how bad the dude in the ve ss felt... but they get you in the long run.
still a good pissa...

you are right about them being a slingshot, not much good in traffic as you cant use the speed anyway.

Agreed. These cars get literally raped by l6 manuals. That is with a good driver, and only up to say 60-70k's. I am saying an auto, coz on thursday I pumped one through 1st, half of second-then as said earlier the thing(VyClubsport) just catapulted into the horizon!!!! they really do have amazing top end...its a joke really.
I wonder how a manual would go stalled up off the line?? (lol)

Just to put in my 2 cents

My stock standard EA S-pac manual sedan 139kw beat three VS commodore's from the light's (obviously at different times), one was at 3am, the other's around midday. We were neck and neck until 80km's when i took off.

BTW commodore's were all auto
