The stock AU was quoted with something like 157, the HP with 164 and the VCT XR with 174. You got to remember the e series XR's were reknown as being a hot car, and I'm sure as the fords got newer they got heavier to boot. The BA has a nice motor, but a big a*** to lug around. Thus the fuel economy.

I will admit the e-series look hot done up, but the AU does look OK in the right trim. Perhaps instead of b**ch about other Fords, we should worry about the holdens????????????????

The new 190 kw commy is really quick.......

LOL at the AU being gutless.

I have an auto VCT with just exhaust and filter mods and have run a 15.0 at 93mph. That isnt too gutless I'd say. Not to mention it was on road tyres.

I'm betting now I have the Chiptorque chip it will be even less gutless.

My V8 isn't gutless and it's only the 175kw (for now) version

Just on the topic of EB XR6's etc the same guy who reckon his mates EB XR6 could go 270km/ph.. Well he just sold it to him.

So now im hearing all this s**t about how a stock EB XR6 can go up to 270kms!!! Then the stupid MF'er has the nerve to make up even more s**t by saying.

'i just got my car dyno'd and its got 140rwkw'

Pfft as if this is even possible for an EB XR6 to have this much rwkw? he didnt have the pappers on him to prove it and then he f**k up by not been able to remember where he got it dyno'd at?

Ahh this sounded pretty sus to me, but he insisted that it had that much rwkw!! his car is completely stock and it has been absolutely hammerd by its previous owners.

So really is this quite possible. No way a Freak factory EB XR6 can hit this much power?

140rwkw from a stock EB XR6????

Not in this lifetime.
I know of XR6's with a ton of mods that are lucky to pull that.

Thats Exactly what i thought.. Its utterly impossible for it to have that much power its almost sad he is trying to convince me of this LOL!

He reckons its like a Freak engine more than mine is. And i quote he said it went up tp 270kms on the dyno and thats where it reached its max power....... What utter crap.

Seriously when i see him next im going to ask for the papers and if he doesnt prove it then he is the biggest dreamer i know of LOL. :?

Unbelievable.. I knew it wasnt possible.

I dont think the gearing would actually be able to go to 270kph.
I know the power wouldnt be there to do it but, even if it was, I doubt it could based on gearing.
I'll see if I can work it out, just for the hell of it.

It's a stretch I know but why wouldnt it reach 270 with the right gearing ?

And yeah, the guy is having himself on hard if he believes the BS he's spreading. Silence him in the usual way by chopping (or atleast equalling) him at the lights and then claim to have more or equal power. That should shut him up :)

I just did some rough numbers and it probably could to about 270 @ 5400rpm give or take. Of corse, to do this he is well past peak power (around 5000rpm) and must have been in a vacuum or the dyno had zero resistance.

Either way, on the road, it isnt going to happen, not even close.

the csv hsv is flat out reaching 270km/h, with 330kw, so i doubt an eb xr6 will, if it's supposed to be stock as a rock.
reminds me of an old 80's song............dreamer, nothing but a dreamer, can you put your hands in the air, oooh no...

Well from what he told me was once the car had hit the end of the speedo hes (guessing) that every 100rpm that it equates to 10kms so he told me.

When it hit the 200kms mark, after that the tacho went to 5700rpm and it got up to 270kms!!! Believeable i dont think so.

I seriously think its s**t because his car is more stock than what my car is LOL. All he has done to it, was install a bunky looking pod filter exposed in both hot and cold air.

Dont the EB XR6's have rev and or speed limiters?

His maths is wrong to start with. An XR6 does roughly 2000rpm at 100kph. So its actually 200rpm per 10 km.

Tell him he's an idiot.
